  • No, Unionize Baltimore is NOT a union, however it does contain a grassroots network of organizers who work for traditional labor unions. Unionize Baltimore is also made possible by our partner organizations, including the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION of MACHINISTS and AEROSPACE WORKERS (IAMAW) District Lodge 4.

  • No, Unionize Baltimore is not registered as an independent non-profit organization, however our partner, the Greater Baltimore Democratic Socialists of America IS a registered 501.c.4 and facilitates any financial aspects of the organization such as strike funds, merchandise, and donations.

  • Unionize Baltimore is a grassroots network of organizers and does not require the approval of your union to join. You may, however, want to ensure there are not rules in your bylaws or constitution that may conflict with joining.

  • The philosophy of Unionize Baltimore is that rules, procedure, and bureaucracy should never get in the way of getting work done. We believe when dedicated people come together and there is work that needs to be done, they will put their heads together and figure it out. Any participation in Unionize Baltimore is completely voluntary, and we leave it to the members to decide their own priorities.
